Below are some common questions regarding the Net Applications Partner Program. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions not answered here.

General
How can I market my program?
Our account managers are available to help you announce and promote your service. Although we provide recommended links to paste into your site, you can use any method to refer visitors EXCEPT unsolicited commercial email (UCE or spam).
Do I get credit for referring new partners to you?
Yes. In fact, we’ll pay you a 5% commission on all earnings those partners make. These partners are known as 'Second Tier' partners.
Can I cancel a product at any time?
For a product where you are handling the billing, you can cancel at any time. For a product where Net Applications is handling the billing, you will need to contact support in order to cancel.
Can I move clients from one product to another product?
Yes, clients can be moved from one product to another product provided both products are of the same type. For instance, moving a client from one HitsLink product to another HitsLink product is acceptable.
What is the difference between 'White Labeling' and 'Co-Branding'?
When a product is 'White Labeled' we remove all of our promotional screens, collateral material, product references, and references to our company. This allows the partner to completely customize the product to look as though they have developed it themselves.

In a 'Co-Branded' product, we allow the partner to customize only the user interface of the application. Our promotional screens and collateral materials are left intact. This allows the partner to quickly set up an application that can take on their custom appearance yet looks as though it were developed in tandem with Net Applications. This option is useful because the partner doesn’t have to spend resources developing collateral and promotional materials.
Is there a sign-up fee to register as a Partner?
There is no sign-up fee to register as a Net Applications partner. In order to activate a product where you do the billing, we require that we have an active credit card on file, however.
Will I be taxed on the revenue I earn via your program?
If you earn more than $600.00 in commissions for the year, then you will receive tax forms from Net Applications.
Do you provide technical support to my clients?
Yes, we will handle all the technical support for your clients.

Rebranding (We Handle the Billing)
What does rebranding exactly entail?
The Net Applications partner program was created to enhance sales through partnerships. To rebrand our product, simply sign up, choose an instance of one of our products and modify its look-and-feel. Every time a visitor clicks on that link, the source of the link is tracked and if the visitor buys something, you earn a generous commission. In fact, if the product is renewed monthly, you keep generating income. It's that easy!
How much would I earn?
We have the most generous commissions in our class. Commissions are paid based on the amount of revenue derived from an affiliate's referrals. We pay monthly after reaching only $100 in commissions.

Our commissions are 50% for the first two years of each customer's revenue, then 15% for the remaining life of the customer.
Do I get paid monthly for services that are billed monthly?
Yes. Each month, your account will be credited with the commission amount based on that month's billing.
What's your payment schedule?
We pay monthly for all accounts that have $100.00 (U.S.) or more in commissions. Checks are sent out within 2 weeks of the end of the month.
What happens with refunds?
Refunded transactions will be removed from the partners' commissioned revenue.
How do I get started?
It's easy. You fill out our application form, which will activate your trial account. Then, an account manager will contact you.

How much would I earn?
You would earn the profit from the revenue you receive from your clients. We assess total fee from you on a monthly basis for the use of our products, but you have the right to set your own prices.

The fees we apply to your account for each client's product usage is significantly discounted, typically 50% of our stated fees, so there's plenty of room to make a profit.
How would I get charged for my clients' use of your products?
You would be billed automatically monthly. As long as your billing stays current, your clients can continue to use our products.
What happens with refunds?
If you bill, you are responsible for issuing refunds. However, you'll be charged for any service rendered when the billing cycle takes place unless you cancel the account(s).
How do I get started?
It's easy. You fill out our application form, which will activate your trial account. Then, an account manager will contact you.
Revenue Generation
How do I start making money right away?
For the quickest setup, simply paste one of our affiliate links onto your site and start making money right away! Or, read our Quick Setup guide to set up a Co-Branded product with your look and feel in a minimal number of steps.
I just want to paste links, can I do that?
Absolutely. Our flexible partner program provides you with the ability to make money in many different ways. Choose the method best suited to your needs!
How long before I receive my first check?
You will receive your first check on our next payment cycle, provided you have earned over $100.00 in commissions.
How often do I get paid?
We pay monthly after reaching only $100.00 in commissions. Checks will be mailed within 2 weeks from the end of the month.
When do I pay you?
For a product in which you are handling billing for your clients, you will be billed monthly beginning one month after the activation date of the product. The dates and amounts of billing dates are handily displayed on your main account screen.
Can I offer my clients a discount? How does this affect my bottom line?
You can offer your clients a discount. If you handle the billing for your clients, we charge you a monthly fee based on account types/aggregate pageviews, and you can charge your clients as you wish. If Net Applications handles billing for your clients, then you have the option to apply a discount to your branded product of up to 10%.

We take the discount off the top of the price and split the commissions as usual. For example, if a client makes a purchase that is normally a $9.95 purchase and you give them a 10% discount, we’ll split the $8.95 with you per our normal commission schedule.
Reporting
Are reports customizable?
Yes, reports are customizable. You can add multiple reports to a single page and save the configuration for future use and ease of access.
Are reports able to be sorted?
Yes, you are able to sort reports. You can sort reports in a variety of ways so you are able to view the data in the most relevant format.
Can I filter reports?
Yes, reports can be filtered. Reports can be filtered using a variety of methods so you have the ability to exclude the data you aren’t interested in.
What file formats do you support for exporting reports?
We currently support exports to the following formats: Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Rich Text Format, Comma Separated, Tab Delimited, and WordPerfect.
Can I save a report so that I don’t have to navigate back to it every time I want to see it?
Yes, you can! We call this feature 'Report Bookmarking'. For reports that support bookmarking, there will be a report toolbar located next to the 'Export to...' dropdown. The first icon from the left will allow you to bookmark the report.
Can I email the reports to myself, my partners, or my clients?
Yes. Every report can be emailed to one or more recipients. Use this feature to share reports with partners, clients, or co-workers. Our reporting engine makes it a breeze!
Can I schedule these reports for automatic delivery?
Yes. Simply choose the report you wish to schedule, and utilize the bookmark feature. (Click the first icon from the left in the report toolbar.) Report bookmarking provides an option to automatically schedule this report for delivery on nearly every timeframe!
Branding
What elements of the application can I change?
We allow many elements of the application to be branded. At this time, the following elements of the application can be modified:

Can I preview the branding options before signing up for an account?
Yes. Feel free to log into the demo account and customize the look and feel of one of the products there. You cannot save your changes in the demo account, but you’ll get an excellent idea of how you can customize the application to suit your needs.
Can I modify the product’s menu?
Yes. You have complete control over the product’s menu. You can add new menu items that link back to your own site, remove features that compete with your products, add markup to the menu to fully brand it, etc... The menu is yours; modify it to suit your specific business needs.
Can I re-brand your collateral materials?
Yes. We provide partners with all of the materials that we use to sell the product. We will provide you with the original documents in their original format for you to tailor to suit your business needs.
White Labeling
What products can I ‘White Label’?
At this time, only HitsLink and Submitter can be White Labeled.
What billing options are available to me if I ‘White Label’ a product?
When you White Label a product, you have multiple billing options available to you. These billing options are:

For a HitsLink White Label, the billing options are:
  1. We do the billing: We’ll bill your clients directly and then pay you the commissions.
  2. You do the billing: We’ll charge you a flat monthly fee based on account type/pageviews and you can charge your clients whatever you wish.
  3. Third-party billing: All transactions will be processed through a third-party online provider (www.billcenter.com) on our behalf and we’ll then pay you the commissions.
For a Submitter White Label, the billing options are:
  1. We do the billing: We’ll bill your clients directly and then pay you the commissions.
  2. Third-party billing: All transactions will be processed through a third-party online provider (www.billcenter.com) on our behalf and we’ll then pay you the commissions.
How do my clients login?
There are three ways for your clients to login:

  1. From our main site or your own custom domain
  2. From a custom login form that you can creat
  3. Directly from a link
Management
Do clients need to know my password in order to access their data?
No, absolutely not. Clients can log in with their own username and password, or you can provide them with login links to their accounts. In fact, if you utilize our Reports and API web services, there is no need for clients to even go to our site! You can provide all of the data they need on your own web pages if your business needs require it.
Are there aggregate reports for all my clients?
Yes. We’ll provide you with detailed transaction reports, summary reports and client lists. You can choose to combine these reports any way you like, and schedule them for automatic email delivery.
Is there a simple way to login to client accounts?
Yes. We provide you with a one-click login for all accounts that you own and/or manage.
Can I schedule reports for multiple clients without having to log into each account individually?
Yes. It’s not necessary that you log into each account to schedule a certain report to be run. You can schedule a report for all of your clients by utilizing distribution lists. We allow you to create distribution lists on a product-by-product basis. Once you’ve created a distribution list, then it’s as simple as scheduling a report and selecting a list for the report to be sent to.
Can I see traffic statistics on the products I brand?
Yes. Every product that you brand comes with a full Enterprise version of HitsLink built right into it! You can see exactly how users are traveling to (and through) your product!
Application Programming Interface
Do you have an API that I can integrate with?
Yes. We have a web service API that provides account management functionality and some additional utility functionality.
What technologies does your API utilize?
The Net Applications API is based on industry standard technology, such as Web Services, SOAP, XML and WSDL.
What functionality is exposed by your API?
Our API exposes basic account management and some Hitslink utility functionality. Users of the API can create, update, and delete client accounts for all products. They can also generate tracking and confirmation scripts for HitsLink users.
Is your API consistent? Will the interface ever change?
Net Applications Web Service API provides a simple, unchanging, object-oriented interface that provides access to common account management functionality. While we will continue to improve upon and add additional functionality to our Web Service API, our interface is generic and extensible such that additional functionality won't break the interface.
